One of our own (Mike Heath) has passed away.

Mike Heath passed away at home on Sunday evening. He has been fighting health issues for a while. Mike has been a Board Member and Member of the IFPF and friend to many of us.

We will Miss you Mike.

Habitat for Humanity Home:

Colleagues,

At the last general membership meeting, I was asked to give an ‘impromptu’  update to the IFPF membership about the progress of the Habitat for Humanity home fire sprinkler project.   I failed to make mention of the most important point that I wanted to bring up, and that was I wanted to explain to the membership of how this project was conceived. continue reading...

Boise Safety Fest.

For our October General IFPF Meeting 2011, Bill Bankhead came and talked about Safety on Jobsites. It was a great meeting. It is remarkable how many people there are not properly trained on equipment. This could be a life and death situation. There is a free safety fest here in Boise and will fill up soon. If you have any questions, click link below to sign up

IFPF is looking into members being able to use credit cards..

The IFPF Board is currently looking into members being able to pay for Membership dues, Luncheon dues and Golf tournament fees by credit card. We have a couple of options we are looking into and we will soon get back to everyone on what we do. I think this will be a dramatic uplift for the IFPF.

Please comment your thoughts on this.

Thank you

To whom it may concern:
To expedite the final inspections we are asking for additional information be provided on the drawings, especially on quick permits.
When there is a request for a new occupancy permit, please show ALL sprinklers within the building department scope of work(the entire tenant space). Usually, this happens when there is a new tenant.

Thank you

John,

Could you pass along a huge "THANKS!" to the Idaho Fire Protection Forum? Those who participated may prefer to remain anonymous, but it wouldn't be right if we didn't, at least collectively, recognize the spirit of community the Forum exhibits. continue reading...

Sway Bracing

To Whom it May Concern,

It seems that many people are having trouble with the earth quake sway bracing requirements of NFPA. In the old days, it was much easier, now there are many more rules. I will try to identify some of the problems that I see consistently. Obviously, this list is not inclusive. Also, just as obviously this list does not pertain to everyone. continue reading...
